HOW NICE WORKS
Imagine standing with your back to the beach, facing North in the center of Nice. On your left, tracing the beachfront, you will find the magnificent Boulevard des Anglais. Directly ahead of you is the majestic Place Massena, from which begins the Avenue Jean Medecin, which continues for about 15 blocks before hitting the main train station. To your right, you'll find the ever-lively Vieux Nice, the old quarter, packed with restaurants, bars, clubs, but not hotels.

NEAR THE PROMENADE DES ANGLAIS
Following the beachfront, the picture-perfect Boulevard des Anglais is perfect for afternoon strolls and "special moment" splurges. (We offer a few premium 4-star hotels along the Boulevard at huge discounts.) Most of our hotels in this neighborhood are North of the Boulevard, in the direction of the train station. These hotels are all within easy walking distance of the beach.

NEAR PLACE MASSENA
Flanked by majestic gardens, Vieux Nice, grand boulevards, and boutique shopping, the Place Massena represents the (non-beach) center, and chic heartbeat of Nice. Continuing up from Place Massena, the Avenue Jean Medecin continues for 15 blocks until the station, and is packed the entire way with department stores, wine shops, clothiers, and restaurants.

NEAR THE TRAIN STATION
The area to the South of the train station is full of budget hotels. These vary in character and amenities, but generally provide basic rooms at very reasonable prices. The beach is about a 20-minute walk. (Of course, train stations have a way of attracting sketchy characters late at night, which you should keep in mind if you book a hotel very near the station.)
